It appears as if Golgotha has suddenly thrust up through the floor next to the altar, a brash reminder of our Lord's passion. Raising their gaunt branches upward, Crown of Thorns plants emerge from the rocks. According to legend, this is the plant used to fashion Christ's crown of thorns.
