@tschfflr In 1991 I had to write an essay. Word told me not to use #passive. I immediately stopped using it. Word not the passive …. So I was a Word user for 30 minutes. The next thing was to find out to do an ß in LaTeX. I used $\beta$ for some time.

Reasons #passive is wrong-wrong-wrong in student (or generally academic) writing:
- It conceals the actor
- Thus, it makes it impossible to judge which parts were done by the student themself, as opposed to found/used/discovered/part of previous work -- This is literally the *main* thing I want to understand when reading student writing!
- It makes for clunky reading.
