I, just, #hate, #proprietary, #software!
I have been struggling with #Ardop and #pat for a month now. Tried numerous tricks to get it working and at best I got only handshake done and bunch of failed packets even when signal quality is 59. Now with all my hate I tried #vara and this thing simply nailed it! It has been 10 years since I started email over #hf fun and how come we ended up in a worst place? I would gladly pay for vara but no native gnu/linux support.😡

Another semi successful #hamradio #fieldday. I meant to try my new 10.8m #randomwireantenna and #ARDOP #pat but apparently living in a mega city with buildings and #rf pollution makes things hard. Barely connected OE5XIR and HB9AK with 10 watts on 20 and 30 meter. 4 out of 5 packets fail to decode and connection drops. Good side my linked dipole and random wire rocks 😎 lets get a little higher ground and try again...

I've got Pat installed and working over telnet, but I can't figure out how to operate over HF. Need to use #Ardop? Maybe? But having trouble setting that up to recognize my radio*.
*Note that I have my other digital modes working fine using flrig.

Such cases do caused high CPU load on #Freifunk routers which had to constantly fragmentate and defragmentate packages due to #MTU mismatches (?between WIFI / LAN & WAN, effectively reducing their bandwith to ~ 16 MBit/s max, as they tunnel all traffic via #OpenVPN...

I have the #APRS iOS app called aprs.fi.
It can connect to a radio with a TNC. OK, so why can't it connect via my local WiFi network to the #Pat or #Direwolf or #Xastir that's running on my pi, and use THAT iGate to TX an APRS message over the VHF radio?

"store failed: cannot create an item in a locked location." The only answers i've found are for azure, vscode, and gnome keyring. They point to flag SECRET_SEARCH_UNLOCK. Where is this flag and how do i set it?
