I raved about this #audiobook last week. But having just finished re-listening to The Secret Diaries of #CharlesIgnatiusSancho, #PatersonJoseph's fictionalised story of the first Black person to vote in the UK, I feel compelled to recommend it again! 👏

@Denisemills, when I read Cloudstreet by Tim Winton in 1992, I thought it was an omen for me as a writer (and I haven't given up that belief!). As for a book that's brought me joy, there have been so many! But I have just relistened to The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho written and narrated by #PatersonJoseph. And I only finished it for the first time last week, a mark of how much enjoyed Peterson's fictionalise tale of the first Black person to vote in the UK.

Many #writers complain about #editing. But not #PatersonJoseph, in an interview at the end of the #audiobook version of his debut novel, The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho:

"The editing process was joyful; the writing was the hardest thing to squeeze out."
