Absolutely. Why is everyone in such a hurry? A year ago, it seemed Twitter was invincible. And it was always a deeply flawed model for humanity going forward. Suddenly we have a whole new toolbox with which to build something open, diverse, and moderatable, however imperfectly.

And a new server and app ecosystem will likely emerge to bring on the invention and #innovation that future generations may thank us for. Twitter didn't care. Ever.
