The #BrianClemens written episode “The Correct Way to Kill" from the 1960s cult British spy-fi tv series “THE AVENGERS” was directed by #CharlesCrichton, and starred #PatrickMacnee and #DianaRigg, with #AnnaQuayle and first aired on #ABC on 11 March 1967

The Sea Wolves (1980) an old-fashioned war adventure movie in the very best meaning of the term. With Gregory Peck, Roger Moore, David Niven, Trevor Howard, Patrick Macnee. There's a refreshing lack of cynicism

#TheHardyBoys s3e3 (1978) - 5/10

1️⃣ #PatrickMacnee guests as an unnamed spy we are clearly meant to think is #JohnSteed from #TheAvengers/#TheNewAvengers!

2️⃣ Shame it’s such a weak episode. It somehow manages to be both dull and peculiar.

3️⃣ The a-story is a bland affair about a group of agents using their skills to pull off elaborate robberies in London. And, in the b-story, Fenton Hardy gets himself kidnapped. Again.

1️⃣ An absolutely-superb adventure for #PatrickMacnee and his new partners.

2️⃣ Spy #GeorgeACooper (#GrangeHill) gets out of prison with a blackmail scheme in mind. But enemy agents accidentally kill him before they or anyone else knows what he has. Or where it is.

3️⃣ There follows a never-ending chase around the English countryside, with nothing but a salacious Western novel as a guide.

Dead Duck is an original 1966 novel inspired by the TV series The Avengers. It was credited to Patrick Macnee but was written by Peter Leslie. People keep dying and they've all eaten duck. An engagingly offbeat story with a fine crazy finale.

#WarOfTheWorlds s1e10 (1989) - 8/10
Starts slow, gets there in the end.

1️⃣ #DeborahWakeham & #PatrickMacnee are the guest stars. She’s good, he’s underused.

2️⃣ The Ironhorse-Blackwood conflict feels forced/unnecessary. Last week, they were best buds. It’s inconsistent.

3️⃣ The bomb-defusing sequence at the end is well done. It’s tense, and does a lot to save the episode.

4️⃣ Nice parallels in the script between what the aliens say about humans, and how the heroes behave.
