All we have to do is bring per capita spending back to what it was six years ago, and then pray that interest rates stay low.

@Gemlog Actually, I think the childcare issue is a good example of policy differences between the Grits and the Tories, because it is a repeat of 2006. PM #PaulMartin had made deals with the provinces to establish a new national childcare programme; the Tories promised that if they were elected, they'd cancel the programme and bring in the Universal Child Care Benefit to help defray the cost of raising children. That is of course what happened.
