To Wild Wood του Paul Weller μου το χάρισε στα γενέθλιά μου το 1994 η Άννα, σε CD. O ήχος ήταν φανταστικός, ιδιαίτερα στο Sunflower, και δεν βγήκε σε βινύλιο για το συγκρίνω. Νόμιζα ότι ήταν "κόλπα" των μηχανικών στο στούντιο. Λάθος!
Ο ντράμερ έκανε την διαφορά, ο Steve White.

I can listen to #PaulWeller sing all day. This is the final studio album by The Jam and it sounds sooo good! The bass tone is amazing. Great album if you're into the mod genre.

Even after 30 years I get tears into my eyes hearing „Country“. It‘s a heartwarming song.
Also like the energy of „shadow of the sun“.
I had the chance to hear the songs live at a concert in New York.

In which Weller makes the kind of music he would have scoffed at as a member of the Jam – jazz-&-funk-inflected groove rock recorded to sound like a jam in Steve Winwood’s living room. Weller’s commitment to the material shines through, however, and songs like “Sunflower,” “Wildwood” and “Moon on Your Pyjamas” reflect maturity without sounding trite or sentimental. His best solo work.

#TheJam, #TheStyleCouncil, solo, veertig jaar kwam langs tijdens het concert van #PaulWeller in #Doornroosje #Nijmegen. Het was jeugdsentiment maar ook kicken op zijn fantastische band. Tweeënhalf uur ging het loos en zijn nieuwe werk is net zo geweldig.
