I don't like using art I find online for profile pictures. I also historically hate how I look in pictures. So, I either make or commission the art for my profile pics. Like the one I'm using right now (which was part of a package in multiple colors and all of the original files).

Pay artists. You get really nice cute stuff and you get to be unique in a world of copies.

I was asked by a then friend how much the big purple Amethyst pyramid I'd made was to buy. As she really liked it and wanted to buy it.
When I told her it was £50. She then replied quite nicely "oh I could buy one from the local crystal shop for half that price"
I was seething. Obviously my time and talent meant nothing to her.
