I made a poll about file managers and I am surprised the few people are using PCManFM 🤔

Dolphin *does* have a ton of options.
I think #pcmanfm is a really nice compromise.
#nautilus #gnome #thunar #pcmanfm
I mostly use #ranger and #terminal commands but wonder which one to use as lightweight gui option. What is your favorite file manager on #Linux #thunar #caja #pcmanfm ? #opensource #filemanager
#ranger #terminal #linux #thunar #caja #pcmanfm #opensource #filemanager

Perso, j'utilise #pcmanfm. Et je pleure le defun #roxfiler ... https://rox.sourceforge.net/desktop/
#GNOME 3 "Files" is just plain slow, even on my seriously overpowered laptop, so I went looking for alternatives. I'd used #Thunar and #PCManFM in the past, so I figured I'd give them a try on the same directory I found intolerable to browse with Files. Thunar is fast, but it locks up the entire UI while loading the directory, which is unacceptable. PCManFM is similarly fast, but it remains responsive the whole time. It wins hands down, at least for speed and responsiveness. IMO those are table stakes for a file manager.
#linux #pcmanfm #notification
This is why i like desktop notification, always usefull.
LOL, ok. I need to find something that makes a nice, simple-to-use (from shell) TUI menu, kind of like fzf, but without search. Maybe I'll just fudge one.
Basically, I just want Gnome Disks (or the disk management feature of #pcmanfm) on the commandline, so I don't have to manually mount stuff, or pop open pcmanfm.
So um. Loonix file managers? Recommend? I'm in a Brand Loyalty Influenceable Period here.
* needs to NOT have BUGS
* needs to be better than #PCManFM (eg remember view settings per directory)
* preferably needs to look like the rest of my windows (this is for a Cinnamon box)
* integrated fast preview of many file types a huge plus
* I stopped using #nemo because of bugs, not because it felt too heavy, if that gives you any idea
