Familial hypercholesterolemia is a strange disease. I need a PCSK9 inhibitor in order to get my cholesterol back into normal range. I asked my father who also has familial hypercholesterolemia why he's not on an PCSK9 inhibitor like I am, and he said his statins are enough for him. Why do I need a PCSK9 inhibitor in addition to statins is anyone's guess.

[Rinse, repeat x 1000 times.]

Doc: "Here's a PCSK9 inhibitor. Try it!"

Me: "Okay." [Shoot myself.]

Doc: "Wow, your cholesterol is now absolutely normal."

Me: "Screw you, and your stupid #diet and #exercise recommendations."

I have bad genes and the inhibitor fixes that.
