@johnmacintosh I’m more of a Palm series person. It all started with the #PalmPilot 1000 from Palm Computing (formerly 3Com) for me. Later, I bought a Palm m505 after my girl friend broke my original Pilot 1000 by sitting on it. 😞 The Pilot 1000 was the most power conserving I #PDA ever had. It was powered by two AAA batteries which lasted for 1-2 weeks, depending on use. 💪

My m505 still works. 👍🤣

Example. Absolutely could not bring myself to work today on a freelance project. Tried to make it happen, failed.

Decided I wasn't going to work on it today after all.

Immediately got the work done.

I've been using a palm m100 to keep track of my todos for the past week. I absolutely love it! It works so much better than a smart phone for me for this task. It turns on pretty much instantly. I have noticed when I turn it off on the clock app, when resuming it takes a second or so to update the clock. Still not bad, and the fact that I have a button that serves to open the Todo app before I've even turn it on means there's nothing in-between me and entering info into the app. That's crucial for me, as I have more times than I can count opened my phone to do something only to be immediately distracted by notifications and forget what I needed to do. And it runs on two AAA batteries! I have a keyboard for it, but I'm still waiting on a USB to serial cable to get drivers for it installed. I'm hoping that with that this is also a good device for writing or journal work.

Broken hinges on Series 3 machines are very fiddly to repair. Positioning them so that they line up correctly, then propping them at the right angle so that the broken part doesn't move, is incredibly frustrating.

It's much easier to add the epoxy before the break happens. Prevent!

I've just thought.. agency in PDA is impaired. When someone says 'you should' we so strongly feel the need to avoid, our agency to do the thing if we wanted to originally is impaired

In trying to aim for one post a day, I risk it becoming the demand that means I can't post at all.

It's a flexible expectation, and that helps. Also, no one else expects it of me, and I actively want to learn how to be more active on social media.. so these things lessen the demand, but possibly my wanting it will make it a demand.
