Fossil-hunting on #FieldPhotoFriday.
In this photo, I am walking in the shallows along the riverbank, looking for teeth, bones, tusks, or other fossils.
This scenic stretch of the Peace River is home to rich Miocene, Pliocene, and Pleistocene deposits filled with everything from megalodon to mastodon.
This same spot has yielded a wealth of small fossils over the last few seasons.

This is where we hunt for fossils. Our favorite spot is the Peace River. It cuts through #Miocene, #Pliocene, and #Pleistocene deposits. You can find a wide variety of #fossils, from #mammoth tusks to #megalodon teeth.
We kayak a few miles away from civilization and have a shovel and screen picnic. It's a great way to enjoy #nature, get some exercise, and find some interesting fossils.
