Seems author had 600 grafted trees in their (large?) garden in Newburgh including all the known varieties and was hoping to rediscover more, as well as trying to preserve what we have.

Some good ideas including “Holyrood should consider introducing legislation to enforce the planting of such endangered trees in new housing estates and public spaces.”

Four more fruit trees planted now! One more apple and our first three pear trees. We put them in a new spot and the ground there turned out to be much nicer (and flatter) so I think they might do well. #gardening #PearTrees #AppleTrees #slaithwaite
