106 followers · 447 posts · Server mstdn.socialI all but gave up on #guitar #effects #pedals when the loud gigs dried up. Put my skuzzy pedal board and cabs in the attic. Knowing they all needed TLC, soldering, Lysol, and/or Deoxit kept me away for years.
Got pretty good at the just-a-tube-combo thing. Learned headroom, playing lightly, and constant pot adjusting is the gain secret.
Anyway - got 'em all out today, did some light rewiring, cleaned them up, etc., and OMG NOW I REMEMBER WHY THEY'RE AWESOME. Hide my wallet.

Does anyone out there on the #fediverse have experience with the TC Electronic Iron Curtain noise gate pedal? I'm looking into a way to quiet down my fuzz makes when not engaged a bit more for recording.
Also, bonus points if anyone has used the TC Electronics BonaFide buffer pedal. These pedals both seem to have high ratings, but their price tags are so low. Almost too good to be true.
