I pinched this bottle of red off my dad. Leaving aside the probably dubious idea of Phil Tufnell as some kind of wine expert, I just can’t get past the fact that his nickname is “Tuffers”, which means the apostrophe is wrong. For shame.

@adelinej @rdmc @nomadave I dislike the color spectrum analogy, because it’s factually inaccurate. Color absolutely is a continuous spectrum on a single axis: wavelength. Blue really does have a shorter wavelength (“more”) than red.

Furthermore, the article correctly points out that ASD is disability measured on multiple axes. But light isn’t. Any color of light isn’t made up of multiple colors the way ASD profiles are made up of multiple traits.

I honestly don't remember which one of us coined it, or if it was somehow a truly joint production. But I find myself thinking about it every so often, and about how it actually does describe some people (me included).

@the_d00d Awwww. Here's my favorite tip: The length of the little horizontal line corresponds to its function. Hyphens are the shortest — the least separation — and they're used to join. En dashes are next, and they're used to show a relationship between (as in ranges or scores). And then the longest, em dashes, are used to separate. I do take some issue with this person's casual acceptance of using an en dash where an em dash is called for because people think the em dash looks funny. :-/ NOT THE SAME. #pedant
