I say that I’m against the exercise of absolute power, but if I were offered the ability to edit apostrophe use in other people’s posts, I would absolutely take it. 😈
Stop conflating external human genitalia of the dangly variety with guts/a spine.
They really don't correlate. Anyone can be a coward, lacking integrity, or instead a confident, respectable and brave person.
It's FA to do with what's in your pants.
And balls are notoriously fragile anyway so it makes no sense.

Advice for snobs (like me): “Pedantry and poetry often go together: if a comma splice screeches like nails on a chalkboard, it’s perhaps because a well-timed colon sings to you like Ella Fitzgerald.“ BUT… “nitpicking “bad” stuff rarely helps. It just makes you seem like an obnoxious elitist. Sorry.”

Just read someone make a remark about "an unfortunate encounter with the noisy end of a shotgun." The noisy end is the end that points *away* from the target.

Unless the audio recording was made with a tape recorder onto magnetic reeled media, the “tapes” that newscasters keep referencing are not “tapes”. They are digital recordings. They, of all people, should know this.

Discuss.

I get really annoyed when someone says “50% of <whatever> are below average.”
No, 50% of some population are not below average, they are less than the median. The only time 50% are below average is when you have a normal distribution, which rarely happens in real life.
When journalists still haven't adapted to chronological concepts.
>With a screenplay by Japanese British novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, Living transposes Kurosawa's Tokyo setting to a storybook version of mid-century London: a swarm of bowler hats and black cabs hurrying down cobblestoned streets
Mid-century, you say? Ok then, so this is a sci-fi work set around 2040 - 2060'ish. Good to know. I wonder if Kurosawa would be surprised? 🤷♀️
#Pedantry: it’s Daylight Saving. No s. We aren’t opening a bank account, we’re saving an hour of daylight for the end of the day instead of in the morning.
Daylight saving time. (noun) An antiquated practice for a country with ~universal electric lit homes and children walking to school in the dark with SUVs and trucks with hoods six feet off the ground.
Apparently instead of learning the #ukulele, I should have stuck with my childhood ambition of learning to play the #banjo - I could be making "several dollars" by now! (The problem is that banjos are more expensive than ukuleles.)
#pedantry: It looks to me like the guy in the picture is playing a #banjolele, not a banjo.
