Reprocessing the North America Nebula and Pelican Nebula from May 2023
I wasn't very happy with my processing of the NGC 7000 region from earlier this year, so I had another go at it.

North America Nebula and Pelican Nebula
After almost a year and a half, it was time to bring out my old primary lens for astrophotography: The trusty Tamron 70-200mm. But the image was giving me a hard time in an unexpected way.

#SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #PelicanNebula aka #IC50870 is a large hydrogen emission nebula in the #Cygnus area of the MilkyWay. Cygnus 57 is a binary star about 530 light years from Earth while Cygnus 56 is a double star about 135 light years away. I'm kind of disappointed in this image since it is my longest exposure yet (about 6 hours captured two nights ago under good stargazing conditions) but I wasn't able to pull much of the red out of the nebula. #StillLearning
