It's an easy volunteer gig. I was drawn to it bc, at the Door of Hope Writing Group of folks living on the street, we had members who went to jail. They continued as members of our group, us sharing prompts, them sharing writings. I wish they'd had access to PENAmerica. Now I can at least volunteer.

Context does matter, after all. Now, what I would find objectionable about such a book is a teacher targeting a black student--really, any student--to read aloud in class the offending passage.
