@blogmywiki I seem to remember #PenelopeFitzgerald said nice things about her (that she was lively). The Hermione Lee is great. Am saving The Beginning of Spring till I've read a few more. Trying to be roughly chronological. It sounds really brilliant & special.

@blogmywiki I think Andy Miller might have had a hand in recommending her to me too! I can imagine that having worked for the BBC, Human Voices would have extra resonance. I love her sympathy with - let's not say failure, but perhaps less than complete success - I wonder if that is part of why she is a writer's writer? But yes - I love her. She's so surprising, and sometimes so funny and dry, but suckerpunches you with sadness or other kinds of shock when you least expect it. #PenelopeFitzgerald
