One of these days I'm going to make up one of these insane hashtags and find out that it's actually being used for something else. Like, watch #PenisLand is actually some website for buying pens on an island or something...

The reason to capitalize the first letter of each word in a hashtag? Look what happens to Pen Island when you don't:

@dem_cath your #HopeNotHate tag needs to be written with capitals for screen readers. It's the difference between #PenIsland and #PenisLand

@ArrestJK I have been capitalizing hashtags for a long time now. It is easy once you wire your brain to do it automatically.

Besides, #iSuckAtHashtags looks so much better than #isuckathashtags right? Not to mention risking silly mistakes like #penisland.

Re alt text for pictures, I only do it occasionally and only when tooting from my PC. Using smartphone keyboard to type extended picture descriptions still sucks despite Android developers' efforts to make typing more user-friendly.
