Jack: I don't want to see the future. Not my future anyway. What if... nah, no way. It's too much. I know what I want the future to look like, but wishing it and having it are two different things. Maybe everything turns out perfectly for us. If it doesn't, then I suppose I'll deal with it then. All we have is right now and that has to be enough, doesn't it?

Daniel: The birth of my child. I might be young, but I really want to live to see that.

Miriam: I'd like to live to see peace again on Earth.

Florian: I want to see Miriam - and Daniel - grow old. And not within days, mind you, but over the decades. If I can't have that, I'd like to see them at least safe before I die.

What future event would you like to live to see?

—With this damn body and my bad luck, I'm sure I'll be alive to see the end of this universe. No. It's worse. I'll be alive to see the end of this iteration of existence! If we're talking about more realistic things, I'd like to see the weather return to normality. Or the next ice age. I'd love an ice age. I'm tired of this "eternal summer" madness. I remember when I had to use heavy jackets in december.

Randall: A better world. Low production rates and a struggling labor market, with a high unemployment rate, are usually paired with relatively low levels of education, poor infrastructure, improper sanitation, limited access to health care, and lower costs of living. Let's help those who need it.

Freddie: Medical breakthroughs.

Bel: All of the above.

"I've never really used one. They CAN work, but they usually only work if the woman was already interested in you in the first place. If she likes you, or wants to like you, even the dumbest thing will sound witty. If she doesn't, you could write ten love poems and she won't even look at them before kindling her fire." Tern explains. She shrugs, hiding an embarrassed blush. "You should ask Sappu, she's good at flirting."

Ash: "Pick-up line?" Oh, you mean an opener. We don't really call them pick-up lines anymore. I think most people my age or younger these days try to say something that draws into a conversation, rather than some crude comment or innuendo like the older generations use. I'm... not so great at any of that? If I'm lucky, I might stammer out a hello. The real bold, confident types just send you their details first thing.

Never used them. I'd known my wife from childhood, the daughter of a friend of my parents.

I'd never have got through my parents’ deaths without her. After that, we knew we'd be together – her father even encouraged it.

Now she's gone, I've no time for relationships. Revenge comes first.
