Today is the 17th birthday of founding The Confused Greenies of Players' Patchwork Theatre Company!

To celebrate we're looking at scene 1.7 of plays throughout the troupe's history, such as "The Horoscope", our very first commedia dell'arte on the Pennsic Performing Arts Tent stage in 2011!

While plenty of our shows are family friendly, traditional commedia was bawdy and ribald, often scandalous with plots and gags focused on the more intimate side of romantic and/or lustful relationships - because that's funny and brings attention to your troupe and your patrons!

Happy Carnevale!

Carnival has intersection with commedia dell'arte and also with the foundation of our troupe. Last year we staged "The Horrible and Terrifying Deeds and Words of Niphleseth, Queen of the Wild Island of Chitterlingonian Sausages" inspired by the 16th Century satirical novels by François Rabelais. In our play, Dottore Gratiano, Capitano Testosteroné, and Arlecchino hoped the spirit of Carnevale season would save them when faced against a supposed army of sausage warriors!
