#France's President #EmmanuelMacron steered clear from close contact with the public as he made a new foray into provincial France in the wake of his signing of a hugely unpopular #PensionReform.

Macron's visit to eastern France was marked by acrimonious face-to-face confrontations between the head of state and some inhabitants unhappy over the raise in the retirement age to 64 from 62 and his style of governance.

@natharari I’m sure you are right, but my friends and family know how much I love 🇫🇷, and I own a property there. It’s impossible to overstate the impact of the destructive protests here. Many Americans look in in disbelief as they see restaurants set on fire and the Arc de Triomphe vandalized, and whatever else has happened at the hands of the #YellowVests #GiletJaunes and the current #PensionReform protests.
