A quick sample of the pressure curve in Affinity Designer. It's quick and easy and flexible. You expand those lines to curves later but it takes a fraction of the time to create.

Another quick tutorial for Affinity Designer for hair and fur - less is more, create a set of shapes and duplicate a lot, colour to match the base shape, ad variation, and detail
