An interesting Ramblers walk today called the three rivers walk. It also included an old cemetery used by staff and patients of the nearby former Angelton Lunatic Asylum. Inspired by a book about Iolo Morgannwg I went searching for clues around Bridgend. Unfortunately this stone circle was created a few hundred years after his death in 1998. Yr Hen Bont / The Old Bridge. Built in 1425 to link the Oldcastle to the Newcastle over the River Ogmore. Oldcastle still exists as an area and castle, but bizarrely Newcastle was demolished and the area is now part of Bridgend town centre. #Penybont #Bridgend #RiverOgmore #WelshHistory #MarketTown

Pencoed to Penybont Slow Ways route surveyed and reviewed. The first section was wonderful, off road and through the woods. The second section was walking through the ginnels of Brackla. A squirrel sat and talked to me and these gates were definitely not white. #SlowWays #Penybont #squirrel
