I think my favourite bird shots from this trip to Perak, Malaysia in March 2019 are these of a pair of Scaly-breasted Munias (Lonchura punctulata) and a juvenile member of the family. They were perched on a tree just outside the garden and allowed me to get closer (about 1.5 metres) to them to take these shots.

It's calls caught my attention first. I had to walk past a tree before I saw it.

Greeted at the start of a walk around Pasir Ris Park, Singapore, on 16 Feb 2019 by this Oriental Magpie-Robin (Copsychus saularis). It wasn't bothered by me standing a few metres from it taking shots. It was more interested in looking for something to eat.

My first shot of the Common Tailorbird (Orthotomus sutorius), taken at Pasir Ris Park, Singapore, on 16 Feb 2019. It was calling from this tree but was obscured by other branches. Eventually it moved to this spot from which I managed to get this precious shot.

A juvenile Tiger Shrike (Lanius tigrinus), spotted at Coney Island, Singapore, on 3 Nov 2018. It's a winter visitor to Singapore.

I spotted it from a distance and gradually moved closer, taking shots every few steps. These were taken from close range (3 m). The bird was quite calm and not disturbed by my presence.

An Asian Brown Flycatcher (Muscicapa dauurica) spotted while walking at Tampines Eco Green, Singapore, on 20 Oct 2018. I saw it resting on a branch just metres away and wasn't startled by my appearance. It stayed there for a while, letting me take a few shots, before it flew away.

The bird is a common migrant here, and is a pretty nice looking bird to me.
