Annual rewatch of #PerfectLives
Day 7: The Backyard
One of the best endings of a piece that I can think of. The way that this winds down reminds me of the importance of shavasana in a yoga practice.
That's a horse of a different color.
Annual rewatch of #PerfectLives
Day 6: The Church
I like listening to this more than watching it. I don't get the whole p-monkey thing and really don't like that mask.
If you hear this, and recognize yourself, please call me. Collect. It's urgent.
Annual rewatch of #PerfectLives
Day 5: The Living Room
This scene perplexed me the most the first time I watched it. I specifically listened to it a lot to get comfortable with it. The dialog nature of it really threw me off for some reason.
The buck stops here.
Annual rewatch of #PerfectLives
Day 4: The Bar
Probably everyone's favorite scene or at least the best known one. 100% quotable, even in my daily life.
Aaaaaaannnnd....
It takes one to pedal and one to steer.
Annual rewatch of #PerfectLives
Day 3: The Bank
The multi-scene ramping up of energy is something I really admire here.
Today today today...
You can do anything you want but you can't do just anything.
Annual rewatch of #PerfectLives
Day 2: The Supermarket
Musically this one is not my favorite but I really like the story about the elderly couple hiding their relationship from the nursing home staff.
Well, it can't hurt.
Shifting gears now, my annual rewatching of #PerfectLives by Robert #Ashley
Day 1: The Park
I always marvel at the way this scene establishes instability and momentum in a slowly paced narrative. The story is vague but compelling and one the repeated octaves start in the piano you really feel the unstable harmonic footing we have been steeped in all this time.
If that's the way it's got to be then that's the way it's got to be.
