In South Africa, Tamara Magwashu has developed a business selling period products at affordable costs. The business also has a charitable arm which uses a proportion of profits to supply pads for free to schools in rural areas. "Period poverty is not a women's issue, it's a societal issue and until we can understand that we are not going to move forward."

I particularly enjoyed the first piece about Anum Khalid and Bushra Mahnoor, students of architectural engineering and psychology respectively. They have worked so hard to set up Mahwari Justice, supplying menstrual products to women caught up in the monsoon disaster. Trans activists helped them.

Menstrual cycle changes are commonly reported in and often young women often report their concerns are dismissed.

It should be taught in school.
