Julia Gillard’s kitchen renovations were subjected to a Royal Commision into corruption.
The inquiry found nothing, but kept the spotlight on unions for months.
It was led by Dyson Heydon, KC, formerly AC, disgraced former judge and the subject of multiple independent allegations of sexual misconduct, and appointed by, you guessed it, the Howard Liberal government.

Now Premier Perrottet insists he called his Health Minister, who is a *lawyer*, for “health advice”, and the minister insists he just happened to be in the room with the head of the ambulance service, who personally intervened to arrange a dispatch for the Premier’s wife. Nothing to see here. No kitchen involved.

I think that meets the Liberal’s low bar for a Royal Commission… or maybe ICAC?

‘The entire #Sydney rail network went down this afternoon, causing transport chaos for millions. The cause was the failure of a digital communications system (the Digital Train Radio System).

I've seen comments online from someone claiming to work at #SydneyRail that responsibility for DTRS has recently been privatised by the #Coalition NSW state government under Premier #Perrottet.

Cool and normal in NSW. Police arrest a student in her home *at midnight* for her part in protesting against RBA policy forcing up the cost of housing. This is using the police to intimidate people who might otherwise protest into submission. Wrong on so many levels.

If the family members of the sitting premier allegedly solicited large donations from developers to advance their political agenda, then there's a strong public interest in finding out what happened.

Had the brothers of a sitting Labor premier been accused of the same thing, the Murdoch media would be screaming blue murder—and they would be justified in doing so.

There is a state election in NSW in the next couple of months. I hope voters remember the following points.

1. Both Gladys #Berejiklian and John #Barilaro (former Premier and Deputy Premier for the #Coalition) openly admitted in NSW parliament to pork-barrelling. The former tried to minimise it by saying everyone does it. The latter tried to joke about it ("Call me Porkbarilaro").

2. Both Berejiklian and Barilaro subsequently resigned, facing various accusations of corruption, both continue to be under investigation to this day.

3. NSW's Independent Commission Against Corruption (#ICAC) subsequently confirmed in a public statement that it considers pork-barrelling (a.k.a. the misuse of public funds for partisan ends) a form of #corruption.

4. All the funds allocated under programs accused of pork-barrelling under these two would have had to be signed off by the Treasurer of the day.

5. His name is Dominic #Perrottet.

#ClubsNSW has grown obscenely rich and powerful by exploiting vulnerable punters and bullying governments. I don’t vote #LNP and I don’t like much of what #DominicPerrottet says but I fully support his stand against the gambling industry.
I would strongly encourage #ChrisMinns to make this a bipartisan issue because #ClubsNSW must not be allowed to roll #Perrottet and consolidate their hold over NSW even more.
