In my honest opinion, I feel like the Linux community is one of the main reasons holding Linux back. The elitism, the toxicity, and the unwelcoming atmosphere all being major downpoints for adoption, me and my mates have had an absolutely horrible experience whenever we ask questions on Linux subreddits, it's the reason why none of my mates wanna bother with Linux ever again, and makes me very doubtful of its adoption for regular people.

Better to tell someone first thing that they are being made redundant, rather than letting them work a whole day, and then telling them!

I ended up removing a load of code I'd worked on all day, that fixed some problems we were having, from source control just before leaving a previous job.
