I suppose it might help to focus on her positive points instead.

Celebrating Alan Rickman

Today’s Doodle celebrates English actor Alan Rickman. With a deep, magnetic voice and endless charm, he’s known for his magical performances in films like Harry Potter and Die Hard. On this day in 1987, Rickman performed in 'Les Liaisons Dangereuses', a Broadway play that was instrumental in launching his career."

Eric Idle was at the RSA Conference, delivering a keynote speech. 🙂

"The Wednesday keynote at RSA is often not time for something completely serious, and so it was that Monty Python's Eric Idle got the assembled throng singing along to some of the troupe's most popular songs."

First - this toot is highly critical in the context of populations of people that are 'hammering' nature. Populations consist of people with varying personalities who are in varying circumstances. Therefore, the following relates to some, more than others, and to others, the criticism isn't relevant to them.

Second - if someone was to ask you how can they be more informed about, for example, climate change? (e.g., air pollution) I'd ask "what do you understand about chemistry?". Everything is chemistry! (assuming we include atomic physics which underlies all chemistry).

In general, though also more specifically in the context of the UK's conservative government (as that's a lot of the "blah blah" I hear living in the UK) - People are busy with their, general, work & recreational activities that are causing the 6th mass extinction, pollution, climate heating, etc (you may have noticed - some folk really haven't due to forms of ignorance, denial, and personal ideologies)

To be fair, much of what l am describing in this post is the manifestation of unethical government & industries. In summary, 'crony' capitalism. Evidently, the motivation to make money takes up a lot of people's time. Whether that's the rich, wanting to be richer, or those on lower incomes, trying to pay the "rent", etc.

As for the rich or let's say salespeople or political business class - if the truth & clarity don't sell a product or political ideology - too many folks lie & or mislead people. That includes lying to the self. Self-deception.

Some people don't give a s# about environmental subjects (talk to them about, for example, air pollution, they don't give a #### (especially when you consider their actions more than their "blah blah" rhetoric).

Some people are as ignorant as concrete regarding ecology (to understand ecology, takes a comprehension of chemistry including biochemistry). Some people's arrogance is only matched by their ignorance. For instance, their scientific illiteracy, and their lack of awareness manifests as denial about their own scientific illiteracy. Their narcissistic egos - result in 'blah blah blah' gibberish about environmental subjects. I've spoken with folk who actually defend diesel vehicles because, well, they own one (their personal bias). They can't even consider or at least refuse to express - that electric vehicles don't have air-polluting exhausts. They appear to be as oblivious about their own ignorance, as they are about the health effects of air pollution (& chemistry, biology, and ecology).

Their gibberish about environmental subjects is, in some cases, in some people, related to not having a basic comprehension of, for example, chemistry. Or, in other contexts, their gibberish about environmental subjects is related to their work or monetary agenda. For example, the fossil fuel industries intentionally spread gibberish about environmental subjects (I.e., greenwash). Gibberish that many folk hear & 'parrot' repeat.

Their lack of understanding doesn't prevent them from passionately expressing their gibberish (political animals). Ignorance, arrogance & greed produces a 'toxic' personality or culture. Both figuratively & objectively (e.g., pollution)

On a more positive note - Other people express a caring "interest" in environmental "issues" but, not enough to, for example, change their diet or other consumer habits (the consumerism mindset). In other words, most of that "care" is moral grandstanding. In other words, they care more about eating meat than animal welfare or mitigating air pollution (that's not how they say it).

So yea, populations of humans have heterogeneous personalities. This would be a long toot to describe the personality 'bell curve' - that I'm aware of. I live in a culture where burning coal and wood is a generally thoughtless activity (that's zealously defended by the greenwashed, meat-loving folk) - so, this has some effect on my point of reference.

On the other end of the 'bell curve' is the people, as yet a minority, that are sincere environmental advocates. The future, if that future isn't ruined by the majority. The Greta Thunbergs of the world. People, of varying backgrounds, are trying to, for example, restore natural habitats either directly or via the government. The people that are, & have, adapted their lifestyles to be more sustainable. Even whilst living in a population that makes those decisions more difficult. Even whilst they are criticized by those that don't behave as if they give a #### about caring for the environment.

The people that are 'pushing' back against the ecocidal culture they just so happen to be born into. The true climate 'leaders'. The climate protesters that the ecocidal mainstream (media) criticizes. Because, for example, they inconvenience traffic polluters. The public's air polluting behaviors that the UK conservative government defends - not the climate activists (whose really on the right side of history?).

You'd think that many of the UK public couldn't be so stupid. However, it's not only ignorance that causes a culture to not recognize its faults. A culture, a government & industries, that have caused climate heating, pollution, wildlife extinction, etc.

It's insincerity. It's corruption. If more folk were sincere agents, you could at least discuss, for example, air pollution without them taking it so personally. They know their air polluters, but, rather than discuss the solutions maturely, they go off on self-defending rants and accuse others of being the problem. Especially those that are actually living a less air-polluting lifestyle (insincerely ignorant folk don't "like" other people that demonstrate their better or more ethical choices)

That's why the UK conservative government supports more fossil fuel projects & not the activists (that it imprisons).

That's why these governments are failing to sustain 'nature' (ecology). They don't give a #### because they only want to be rich. They are selfishly corrupt. The UK's conservative government consists of people that are venture capitalists. They support the most ecologically harmful industries. Are the rich politicians honest & open about that? Are they ####! (corruption isn't something you turn off and on. It's endemic and is their life)

Are many people in the population honest & open about how their lifestyles, for example, meat-eating, BBQs, fireworks, diesel trucks, etc, are environmentally harmful, are they ####!

Climate change is a symptom of what's wrong with our cultures. What's wrong with the population's lifestyles? What's wrong with their politics, their business? What's wrong with their gibberish? What's the ecological effect of their ignorance? Their selfishness? their corruption? Their politics? Their business interests? Their lifestyles?

Ignorance and corruption can't mitigate climate change - those are the social faults that have caused it.

Therefore, the 'silver lining' of mitigating climate change, is that dealing with the problems - will put a lot right (climate adaptation). Will undo many wrongs. Will take a sincere culture. Will take a higher form of intelligence (e.g., comprehension of chemistry, biology, ecology, etc) and common good care (i.e., wisdom)

In time, the future generations will consider our time as primitive (in comparison) Just as humanity today, on average, perceives the behaviours of past cultures as less civilised.

The future generations will judge our time, a time of corporate greed, as a time where "darkness", where ignorance & greed, caused preventable suffering.

In some ways, that time of judgement from a more fair, more equitable society is our time. The "average" population variable, the average sincerity, education, access to knowledge, a cultures development, is a perpetually changing quality.

A thousand years ago, people perceived that "their time", was the normal. Today, people perceive that their perceptions, their wants, their political ideas, are the normal.

However, more than any other time in human history, today's social norms & values, will not be sustained.

For example, on average, the people of the future won't be burning fuels. They won't be farming animals & eating those animals.

They won't be polluting & degrading the ecology that sustains them.

Technology changes. The only reason why the fossil fuels, wood fuels, animal industries, etc, continue today, is because, on average, their dominance has been propped up by corruption. Corruption can't be sustained. The fuel industries & their associates time, is coming to an end.

Greed is harmful! Greed is ignorance & immorally weak.

"tomorrows" generations will judge greed. Because greed, for example, from the corporate green washers, has taken something from the future. Their air polluting activities are damaging the future ecology. The ecologies that are tomorrows future generation's. They will look back on our polluting activities and ask why?

Why were they so stupid that they couldn't even perceive that breathing in polluted air was unhealthy? Or, why didn't they care if they did understand?

The general why, is that it's easy to green wash ignorant people that don't understand chemistry. Therefore, biology. Therefore, what is healthy or not.

No informed person would chose to drink polluted water. No informed person would choose to inhale polluted air.

And yet? Some, out of better choices, do choose the worst choices - they're not informed.
