I think the landscape I am interested in is less just #personalknowledgemanagement and more #PersonalThoughtManagement

I make this distinction because
- knowledge notes appear to generally have well-addressable names indexing long, context-rich elaborations
- whereas *thoughts* come in more sizes, from highly discrete single-sentence observations and ideas (seed points for future knowledge) to those fully formed essays
- knowledge isn‘t what clutters up our brains.

Messing around with #Obsidian to see if I can understand the whole #PersonalKnowledgeManagement thing. Seems like a lot of work, but I'm hoping it will help me mentally organize that list of #20Things I made.

Basically, I'm going to use it to catalog my interests and hobbies to start. A lot of my main hobbies correlate to one another anyway, but it'd be nice to visualize and take advantage of relationships.

I just need to get used to Obsidian. And taking notes in general. 😅

Looking into Extensions and Plugins for #onenote for the first time. Maybe I can find something that fixes a minor issue with my #Zettelkasten #personalknowledgemanagement

Added the RSS feed of favorited items to my Social Media Backup notebook in OneNote, using IFTTT #automation #personalknowledgemanagement

TIL that #Obsidian has a code inspector just like browsers, so I was able to fix the appearance of some #Todoist #tasks and make it look *exactly* as I wanted to, which filled me with much #joy.

Obsidian is truly personalizable - maybe I need to learn how to make plug-ins to extend functionality (#coding has always been so abstract to me that I’ve never been able to follow through, I can do front end dev only because I like seeing changes visually).

If you’re feeling limited by simple #notes apps like Apple Notes, I highly #recommend #ObsidianApp. It can be as simple or as complex as you like, and you can access your vault on phone, tablet, and desktop easily.

This Wednesday, I'm running a free online meet-up on the topic of #PersonalKnowledgeManagement. It's part of our regularly monthly meet-up series on the WorkLifePsych Community.

What is PKM? Intentional ways of gathering, managing and creating using the information we come across each day. Basically, ways to avoid information overwhelm.

I usually work a #FourDayWeek and take Fridays off.

But I'm heading into the office this morning to catch up on some overdue YouTube edits and to prepare for next week's #PersonalKnowledgeManagement meet-up.

Neither of which actually feel like work... 🤓

Just finished #debriefing myself after my trip to the #allergist and this is part of my #notes.

I've been an inveterate note-taker for years and discovered #PKM (#PersonalKnowledgeManagement) last year while searching for #ADHD oriented methods of organization & productivity.

That led me to the amazing #Obsidian app (which is shockingly free for being fully featured), which took my note-taking to another level.

I do gain some satisfaction from creating informative visuals :)

#obsidian looks really interesting. Am definitely going to experiment with it for my work notes, which are all text (and I ❤️ #markdown)

I'd love to also replace #evernote as my personal knowledgebase, but I rely a lot on PDF OCR there. Looks like there is a plugin for Obsidian & PDF/OCR but also looks a bit alpha-ish. Any suggestions?

I have been interested in personal knowledge management ever since I realized that my human brain wouldn't be able to remember everything that it encountered, but I didn't know it had a name until recently. Now I'm searching and taking notes and trying to organize the PKM info while also working on developing my tools and habits to manage the info and it feels very meta. It has been neat to remember old systems or strategies and realize that it was a PKM tool.

I would love any insight users of both have of using #RoamResearch and #reMarkable together. I think that would be my ideal knowledge/learning/notes world.

Online search shows that a few people are trying the combination, but it is currently clunky.
