This is really bad news. Although it was never used by policy makers to its full potential it was a rare bright spot in the UK's handling of Covid-19. The cost of continuing it would be a pittance compared to what was wasted on overpaid consultants running #testandtrace not to mention overpriced and often unusable #personalprotectionequipment.
