I was having some small issues with FeatherWiki so switched my personal wiki/digital garden to TiddlyWiki, but to be honest while I find TiddlyWiki very easy to use and really pretty (at least with my current theme, it's not as useful on mobile but I really like it in the browser: https://wiki.gersande.com) it takes a fucking age and a half to load. Frustrating. I don't want to deal with more complex self-hosted wiki-software because I'm self-hosting and love the drag-and-drop-html-file TiddlyWiki approach. Do I just... accept that it's going to be slow?

what are some tools folks are using for personal knowledge management, zettelkasten, or personal wiki in neovim?

grateful for the Discord #tiddlywiki community! with some help i really leveled-up the [[Discography]] in the 🌱 digital garden today. The page remembers the model view for either text list, grid, or stacked images and filters the categories based on user interaction.

I have no idea how to express the frustration of having an idea in my head and finally finding the concept not only existed, but was only blocked from me because it was in another language. (German in this case, I guess.)

Updated my tea garden:

so now the svg icon flair is functional rather than purely decorative, and because the [[Discography]] template is handling all the link generation, I didn't have to change the fields or the organization of the wiki.

I’ve been building out a personal #wiki using @ia Writer and their new (to me) wikilinks feature. I like that it’s all built around plaintext files, and everything’s stored on my local.
I’ve seen others use @notionhq for this, but I’m a bit weary of tying all my personal data to a company that could be acquired or dissolved in the future.
I’m curious if there are other alternatives that are purpose-built for this use case? #personalwiki
My current thinking is my best bet is a #PersonalWiki with file syncing but not otherwise online. There are several options, but I'm most thinking of Zim Wiki or Zettlr. There are a couple of other popular ones but people are oddly cultish about them. I've read a bit about #zettlekasten which seems to be trendy but has apparently been used for a century by scholars and writers, so it's worth taking seriously. It seems more my style than #MindMapping.

I want to set up a #PersonalWiki for notes in general and for planning #TTRPGs in particular, with Markdown or something similar and hyperlinks between notes. I could run one on a webserver on my single-board computer #LePotato. Which Wiki server would people recommend?

I spent most of the day experimenting with a #DigitalGarden Jekyll plugin, and this is the result: https://gersande.com/tea/
I really like the idea of creating a personal "digital garden" wiki for tea drinking of all kinds. May eventually create pages for non-green-tea things too, like tea pots and herbal teas as well. Anyways. It was a bit of a chore to get this working but everything seems to be behaving now so yay?

Logseq looks pretty good for personal wiki/knowledge management/notes-taking stuff. I like a lot of things about it.
But I’m resisting the usual urge to go all-in once I find something good, to transfer everything from my previous systems to this asap.
Going slow will let me find out what the weak spots of this particular ecosystem are, before I invest too much into it. Then, I can figure what use-cases are best fit for it, and what should remain in other systems.

I've been using #novembeat as an opportunity to actually try and use my experimental zettelkasten for managing my sample library. Each sample I've used has been tagged and annotated with timestamped observations in my zet. To date, my zet tells me I've done this process to 80 unique samples in my novembeats.
The zet is same technology that powers my static HTML wiki, so there a little bit of a wiki component too! I will be posting those bits to my website. The samples, for practical storage and legal reasons, can't be included. But things are definitely starting to come together!

it's got a page on my #personalwiki now, and a name: https://pbat.ch/wiki/musigram/
Similar to #looptober, I'm doing all my work inside of a single org-mode with inline code, which can then be automatically exported to my #personalwiki.
All my code (as well as my unhinged rambling in text form) for #novembeat up to this point can be found here: https://pbat.ch/wiki/novembeat_2021/

for those here who have a #personalwiki system setup, what is your workflow like?
do you manually create all the files and just search through your files when you want to use a [[wiki link]]?
I'm trying to get backlinks in jekyll on github pages so that I have some system for linking pages together, but I would really like to use a wiki links style system where I can link to existing files and create new files as I write.
Currently I just have a bunch of files linking each other
My made croissant circle of life posts into a page on my #personalwiki https://pbat.ch/wiki/croissant_circle_of_life/
Thanks for the subtle hint @cblgh
