Today’s listening is ‘Who Came First’, the 1972 solo album by Pete Townshend.
In particular I’ve been listening to the 2018 remastered and expanded 2CD version of this album.
Some of these songs were originally intended to form part of the abandoned ‘Lifehouse’ project, whilst others were inspired by the Indian spiritual master Meher Baba, of whom Pete Townshend was (and still is) a follower.
A very interesting album from Pete!

Vooral zijn agressievere manier van het bespelen van de electrische bassgitaar en ook zijn manier om de bass als leidend instrument op de voorgrond te brengen sprak tot de verbeelding.
Hij ontwikkelde zelfs de #typewriter techniek.
Reeds voor de oprichting van #TheWho, speelt hij met #PeteTownshend in verschillende bandjes in de sixties

Tras la muerte de Keith Moon, #PeteTownshend comenzó a construir #EmptyGlass, un álbum en solitario publicado el 21 de abril de 1980. El infausto desenlace del baterista fue el disparador para que el guitarrista de los Who exorcizara sus propios demonios. Y eligió una manera de hacerlo mezclando lo hecho en los 60` con las nuevas variantes (a las que había sabido influenciar) y en esos momentos dominaban la escena.
