Right Angles!

Spent the afternoon #hiking the Dragonfly Trail in the foothills of the Gila National Forest today. We didn't find the dragonfly #petroglyph but we spotted another one so that's a win.

The weather was beautiful, the creek along the trail was flowing from snow melt, and there was just the right amount of people on the trail. All in all a pretty great Sunday afternoon!

Eddie Guimont and I failed to track down the #BettysNeck Bigfoot from the #AssawompsetPondComplex — not even a single Pukwudgie — but we did locate the famous #Petroglyph site! It was impressively obscure and required some heavy bushwhacking and moderate ice skating to locate.

This panel was called world's greatest #petroglyph, then they found the giraffe in the Sahara. I still rate this as the best, but I'm biased by the dot count and astronomy codex aspect. This is as impressive as #Southwest #RockArt gets, in my humble opinion.
This photo is from closer on the death defying six inch ledge and pretty high up, but the cliff leans in so it wasn't uncomfortable in the dangerous sense. Sure takes a long lens to capture the detail.

The photorealistic image is a paper cutout made with a projected transparency. I soak the thick paper in paraffin so it won't absorb glaze.
