A horrendous new #DarkWaters kind of environmental disaster is surfacing: Ultrashort #PFAS seem to have been released in high concentrations into our environment worldwide by the fluorination industry since the 1990s, yet barely anyone knows about their existence, so there is no monitoring and no regulations. Due to their high concentrations already present, the health effects are likely at least as devastating as the more recently known longer chain PFAS and PFOS.
