Ich bin sicher nicht der erste und letzte der sich für das #Fediverse "Dirketnachrichten" wünscht die gleichzeitig #E2E und Perfect Forward Secrecy (#PFS) kann.

Vermutlich müsste man dazu das Protokoll (AP) erweitern. Und eine gelingende Implementierung in divers. Projekte ob das gelingt, dass steht wiederum auf einen weiteren Blatt.

#TIL that forward secrecy (#PFS) is actually not that useful in messenger apps if one keeps the messages. Because if the device is compromised, the attacker can read those messages.

That's the reason for "disappearing messages": then PFS makes sense.

Interesting news: @threemaapp have rolled out Perfect Forward Secrecy (#PFS) in the latest #Threema version, which means that for each message a new #crypto key is used.

The new protocol they're using is called #Ibex, but unfortunately it's not (yet?) #OpenSource as far as I know.

Some nice new features: Group calls, 👍 and 👎 reactions in groups and, finally, multi-device support (though, currently only as a beta version for iOS).
