El uniforme del ejército francés al inicio de la Primera Guerra Mundial tenía su origen en los tiempos en los que las armas de fuego tenían poco alcance y poca precisión. En aquel momento, impresionar al rival y llamar mucho la atención en el campo de batalla eran ventajas estratégicas. Muchos ejércitos se vestían con colores llamativos, rojos y azules sobre todo.
Sin embargo, al principio del siglo XX, con el uso intensivo de las armas de fuego mejoradas, casi todos los ejércitos se habían dado cuenta de que lo mejor era camuflarse y no ser visto.
Pero el orgullo francés por su mítico uniforme había tumbado todo intento por cambiarlo. (sigue...)

I need to start borrowing different types of #Grimoires, because at a certain point it just gets repetitive.

Even a recently released Grimoire translated from Arabic was surprisingly derivative of Greek Christian Magic.

Maybe it's time I get back to works on the #PGM & #HellenisticAge Magic.

👉 First publication of all 72 pages of the Greek magical papyrus PGM IV!

PGM IV consists of 36 lose sheets inscribed mostly on both sides. It is the most extensive ancient Greek magic book and contains 3.274 lines.

The ritual manual is dated to the 4th century.

Spent the last days with trying to make sense of the order of the sheets and the translations.

Greek Magical Papyri #2

In 2016 Eleni Chronopoulou presented her discovery that PGM II and PGM VI are two parts of the same scroll. She also presented strong arguments for a new dating to the 2nd-3rd century.

The ritual manual describes three individual, lengthy rituals for revelation. The final column contains a drawing of a figure which modern scholarship refers to as the "Headless one“. The instruction calls it „figure“ (zôdion).
