I know very little about #PostageStamps and #Philately in general, but periodically I sit down to fiddle with my collection and am almost always struck by how relaxing it can be.

The whole thing started with inheriting my parents' small collection of Vatican stamps (a nun had charmed them into a stamp subscription), that were floating around unloved in drawers. I've shown it some love and care, and bought more.
Then someone gave me part of a collection she didn't want. You can guess the rest

A friend found these "cinderellas" inside a book and gave them to me. They are dedicated to Spanish painters, in this case Goya.
In them, you can read in the central part:
"Spanish Association for the fight against poliomyelitis."
And on the right side
"We want to walk ...
work ...
be useful ...
help us"
They are from 1972, and I think they send a great message.

Dug out of my collection A card from the National Gallery of Victoria to the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1978.

The stamps are gibbons 552a and 525. Interestingly, the VG perfins are inverted on the 25-cent stamp.

Listening to Golden Earring this morning and just discovered that in 2011 the Dutch Postal Service in honour of the band's 50th anniversary issued a stamp that seemingly also contained a smart phone link that played "Radar Love".

Of course I gave this a CW as nudity is OK to openly display on letters for the Dutch but still possibly sooooo objectionable in social media land. (Hint: read this with a major dose of world weary sarcasm in my voice.)
