If not, and you live close by, do walk along and have a look. There is a separate bookshelf by the front garden wall for children's books suiting all ages, and sometimes picture books too.

Two Traditional British Red Phone Boxes as seen in Gibraltar.
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and headland, on Spain's south coast. It’s dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426m-high limestone ridge. First settled by the Moors in the Middle Ages and later ruled by Spain, the outpost was ceded to the British in 1713.

The K8 phone boxes are cream-coloured because Hull was the only place in England where the local council ran the public telephone network.
I relied on the local phone box in my youth to phone friends & family. In those days, there were no mobile phones, and poorer families like ours couldn't afford a landline.

This is several years old but features a British red phone box which has been one of my favorite subjects going back to basically the beginning. This is shown adjacent to the clock tower known colloquially as "Big Ben" although the tower is actually named for the late Queen Elizabeth II.

This was the first #PhoneBox installed in the #Fishponds area of #Bristol (UK)
It was installed outside 511 Fishponds Rd in 1908, although this photo was taken in Nov 1933. The kiosk was made of wood, so was in poor shape by the time the photo was taken!
There is no longer a #payphone on that site. The shopfront is still there - although it’s now a security company, not a grocer.
The wall and railing have since been replaced, and no sign of the phonebox remains.

Perhaps Scotland's most famous phone box, in the beautiful village of Pennan on the north Aberdeenshire coast. The one actually used in the film "Local Hero", which was partly made in the village in 1983, was a prop placed nearby.
