Just rang the #Phonecoop to check whether I am on the best broadband package. Got through to real person in a couple of minutes, they were super helpful, and all sorted. If your phone / broadband provider doesn't do that, really recommend switching

Apparently #phonecoop were letting people know in batches, so they could manage the response (i.e. tide of annoyed customers). Almost as if neither the #internet nor the #Quaker grapevine exists.

Argh, just found out - on the grapevine! - that #Phonecoop is closing its email domain and service. Had my #coop email for years, going to be a right pain to change it.

They've definitely been (frustratingly) slow to the party - but co-operativism is inherently risk adverse (which isn't necessary a terrible thing in all cases).

Platform building is a really risky business - requiring a lot of capital and often a very uncertain return.

But things are developing.

e.g #CoopsUK are running a #platformcoop accelerator unfound.coop

#PhoneCoop are supporting 2018.open.coop and set up a Co-operative Innovation Fund.

@Fairphone @paulfree14 @fly_it I get the issues re: Google - but understand the fairphone possession.

Your primary impact goal is: improve the supply change.

And at the moment it's all about Fairphone adoption / marketshare. Once you've got sufficient share you can start having more secondary impact through aspects like the OS.

Vivian is a serious #coop entrepreneur who is clearly innovation and future focused - and gets the importance of the #platformcoop movement (has supported projects already).
