This summit is an extinct #volcanic cone standing out a plateau. Here’s also where the #Loire arises, France’s longest river. It is a pleasure to climb the last 200 meters to the summit, as every footstep sounds a bit. The name of the rock, #phonolite, has its origin in the bright sound it gives when hit. The photo was taken about 5 yrs back.
