(2/3) National Geographic #PhotoArk is an ongoing, 25-year project to document every species in the world. To date, Sartore has completed portraits of more than 13,800 species in over 50 countries. His images are not only astonishing beautiful, but emotionally moving as well - which Sartore hopes will inspire conservation action.
OK, time for a "Feel Good" story of epic proportions. Joel Sartore is a Nat GeoExplorer who has undertaken to capture "...every species in human care around the world." To date, he's photographed 13,500 species. (I know NatGeo has had it's share of controversies since being acquired but I'm focused [pun intended] on their photography.) The original article is in PetaPixel, a lightweight web-based photo rag.
