Tested a new (to me) hip camera bag on a hike today. It worked but was not super comfortable, but maybe that is more about me than the bag. It has an integrated water bottle pocket and held my tripod securely… maybe i should try it again for deciding if it will make the packing list for Iceland? #photography #PhotoGear

I broke down. I ordered the Nikon D80 that's been in my wishlist on our largest national classified adds page for a while.

It's really the lens that comes with it, a DX 35 mm f/1,8, I want. But buying the lens alone is at best 10 Euros cheaper from any seller.

If the battery is decent, I can use that as a back up for my D200 too. Even with shipping, that means the camera itself was in practice free.

But I really must stop his madness.

Broken Canon Teleconverter because I def remember being able to stack these things … but in this “newer” release I apparently cannot.

These Version 3 and I know I’ve done this before in the previous model cuz there are a ton of times I grabbed very far telephoto shots of the moon - just like I tried this evening.

One of the reasons I made the jump from DSLR cameras, to mirrorless, was to reduce the size and weight of my gear.

When you have to hike through rugged NZ forest, and navigate cliff faces above rushing water, you notice all the weight on your back. Going small appealed!

My two widest lenses are the Voigtlander 15/4 and Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8. They're both manual-focus only, very compact and with excellent optics.

@990000 I love Shabazz. Reminds me of my favorite era growing up near NYC. He used an old Nikon SLR for a long time, a Contax medium format, a Canon point and shoot (and now a Canon dSLR), and a rangefinder I haven't been able to identify.
