Finally swapping out one of the oldest (and cheapest) lenses in our lens family. This Nifty-Fifty clearly has done its service and deserves to retire.

These are two of the very first photos I took with is and two of the last - it clearly is only sharp in the middle at this point.

I do have one backpack that will carry everything, but it sticks way too far out on my back - like a huge hump.

It has one too many layers. So it's not very ergonomic.

But I'd like a stylish, minimalistic looking thing ... like a Tardis backpack!

Why do "they" not make ergonomic camera bag/backback that will carry more than just camera equipment?

Every professional looking bag is bulky, has way too much padding, and doesn't account for carrying other "things" like a sketchbook, a wallet, cables, even a laptop or tablet, etc.

My laptop backpack is just a titch to narrow to carry my camera.

I end up carrying my camera in a holster bag inside a messenger bag.

It's always a two bag proposition.

I like the Pope Shield shots, though it might be awkward to use in the field since it sticks out in front of the lens.

I think ring flash is the easiest for walk-around use (not compared in the video). I also have the fold up diffuser he uses for the 3rd photo. Results are softer than the ring flash. I plan to use it more often when bugs are back next year.
