...another #offgrid #pv module setup upgrade: this 400W module will replace an old 50W module. Better position & 8x power should solve the winter = discharged battery issue.

The roof is facing south-west, so it was decided to use an angled support to raise the module to face to the south-east, resulting in a weird overall rotation facing south without shadows. As the longer mounts do not supply support against twisting a diagonal metal chain was used to pull on the lower long mount.

Today I added 1,2kWp to my #photovoltaic setup. 800Wp will be used to charge my electric Piaggio Ape (5kWh battery, can be used to drive around or as emergency power bank / grid independent inverter to run a small fridge etc.).
400Wp will support the existing 800Wp. The grid tie inverter is still limited to 600W to follow local regulations ( #balkonsolar #Steckersolar ), but power output on cloudy/overcast days and in winter should be 50% higher now.

May was a great month for our #photovoltaic system. The total production was 1.24 MWh (an amount of energy that would power an EV for ~8000 km), it reduced our consumption from the grid by 90% and the surplus we sold to the grid was 580 kWh.

I'm glad I've got a home #photovoltaic system primarily for environmental and self-sustainability reasons because any ROI calculation is basically impossible.

2022 was a record year for the European solar ☀️ #photovoltaic market with around 41 GW of new installed capacity.

It represents 47% more than in 2021 (27 GW).
