One of the sessions I went to at #phptek this year was the talk @jeremeamia did about using diagrams and he showed us @mermaidjs_ and it's really helpful in my day-to-day work trying to communicate complex concepts.

I neglected to post this after #phptek but I found this #Lego vending machine at the airport. I love the idea but I’m lost on how it would work. Do I get to bring a completely constructed model on to the plane? Can I spread out on the plane and build it?

i feel energized by attending Tek. Now i need to come with a few brilliant talk ideas so I can speak at Longhorn to keep that conference / karaoke energy going

Learned how to play Catan Starfarers at #phptek last week thanks to @omnicolor and others.

Played tonight, just a few rounds of a modified 2 player version with my 7 year old because my 9 year old is sick and couldn’t join.

The 7 year old loves it so far and is picking up very quickly on the game play.

Wished I would have gotten a couple of photos during, didn’t think about it until it was all put away. 😿

Maybe if I hop on a hashtag right now... anyone who's been at #phptek or #phpday help me with this #doctrine question?

Back to work after #phptek . I managed to almost keep up with my email but I have a crazy number of pull requests to review.

I learned from books. From blogs. From conferences like #phptek. From other developers who were kind enough to put up with my annoying questions over email.

I've grown into rules where I've managed people - at its height, 6 separate teams of over 30 individual contributors and 4 managers.

I've managed highly resilient and scalable websites and written code running on literally millions of servers. It's the kind of impact and reach I only dreamed about as a kid.

As is tradition for me, I get home from traveling and grab myself a California Burrito 🌯. No one makes these like we do in SoCal. Already looking forward to #phptek 2024. The big question now is, where?

Landed back in San Diego from #phptek. Going to enjoy some family time for the rest of the weekend, then back to the grindstone starting Monday.

Gotta get caught up from the last week and then start the planning process for the next one. Hope to see you there.
