I bought a dozen Ultra HD Blu-Rays to start rebuilding my physical collection, and the Warner Bros movies all had expired digital redemption codes. WB's help page essentially says, “Sucks to be you.”

This is exactly why I'm rebuilding my physical media collection. If something is digital, the men in suits can take it from you without any warning.

#YouTube's search (on #Roku especially) has gone completely fucked. Doesn't even autocomplete anymore, barely finds anything.

I was looking up a let's player i watch to help me sleep sometimes. (Klatremus, plays #ThiefTheDarkProject #ThiefMetalAge and #TheDarkMod, usually "supreme ghost" rules, check him out!)

Anyway, he wasn't showing up and I had this panic moment like "I need to download all his videos and put them on DVD! What will I do when they vanish one day!?"

I realized I had not yet tested out the CD/DVD drive on my new computer, so at random I picked out Batman Forever from my shelf and watched like the first 5 minutes of it just to make sure everything was working properly. #physicalmedia

In case anyone was wondering, my philosophy about what movies or television to watch is as follows:

1) I pick things to add to my #physicalmedia collection based on whether I already have it, whether it looks remotely interesting or has anyone in it I like, or I've heard of it, or if it's directed by anyone I like or heard of. Also if it's cheap (since I buy a lot that's an issue). All new purchases go on my TBW shelves/boxes.

2) I pick things to watch based on what I'm feeling in that moment, whether it's something I've recently picked that was too enticing to just shelve, how it contrasts with other things I've watched that day/week (diversity being a positive), how old/new/fun it looks, etc.

I have a diverse collection. B #movies, foreign #films, noted and overlooked directors, #documentaries, famous/infamous films, films on a theme, idea-focused films, auteur filmmakers, and cultural shlock. Much more diverse than my reading tastes these days, although I'm working on that too.

Who designed the terrible template used on the back of all 4K Blu Ray cases? It's enough to make me design my own slips.

It is funny how memories of the dead work, I recently found myself picking up a copy of the indie ensemble flick 13 Moons because I was stunned to see it in person, remembering how viscerally my mom hated it when we watched it together when I was a young teen, and me not particularly "getting it" either.
